How to Install Official Android 4.4.2 KitKat OTA Update on Galaxy S4 LTE I9505?

Samsung is nowadays rolling the latest Android update i.e. Android 4.4.2 KitKat to its devices. Previously, Galaxy S4 I9500 received the update and we told you how to perform the installation. Now, another model of S4 i.e. Galaxy S4 LTE I9505 has received the update.

The update which is regarded as XXUFNBE Android 4.4.2 KitKat firmware is now available through OTA on almost all of the handsets. But still some users are unable to receive the update. Moreover, they are also having issues performing the update. Here is the manual guide for installing the official Android 4.4.2 KitKat firmware on Galaxy S4 LTE I9505:

Before you begin installing, consider these points:

  • Don’t’ Samsung USB Drivers on your PC from here
  • Make sure to disable Antivirus and Samsung KIES Software as it may not allow ODIN tool to function
  • ‘Debugging Mode’ should be enabled on your device. To do so, head to ‘Settings’
  • Backup your device before you begin
  • Remove the external SD card
  • Also make sure to have sufficient amount of battery in your device i.e. more than 50%

Also make sure your device does not operate on custom ROM as it may wipe your system partition completely.

Procedure for Installing Android 4.4.2 KitKat OTA Update:

  1. First of all, download the XXUFNBE official Android 4.4.2 KitKat from here.
  2. Extract the contents to a folder on desktop.
  3. Now, download ODIN3 v3.09 from here (Source 1 | Source 2).
  4. Also, extract its contents to the same folder on desktop.
  5. Install the ODIN tool and connect your device with PC via USB cable. WAIT till the tool recognizes the device turning ID:COM section yellow.
  6. Now, click on option ‘PA’ and select the downloaded firmware from desktop.
  7. Without making any further change, click on ‘start’ option.
  8. As the installation completes, your device will automatically reboot turning ID:COM section on ODIN tool green.
  9. Now, disconnect the USB cable and enjoy the latest firmware on your Galaxy S4 LTE I9505 model.
