HUMANKIND just got released on Steam and has been developed by AMPLITUDE Studios. This developer studio is known for its games such as like Endless Legend and Endless Space. This game allows you to take control of mankind’s fate from different regions around the world as you progress through time and shape society according to your will. This guide will talk about the different issues that are known to HUMANKIND and how to get around them.
If you have taken part in any of the OpenDev scenarios or the Beta, retaining old files will cause problematic behavior. So you will have to delete the Humankind folder in your Users\[username]\Documents\Humankind folder before starting the game.
HUMANKIND common bugs and how to deal with them
Hangtime problems
- When performing actions in battle, there can rarely be a long hangtime. This can simply be fixed by reloading your save and that is it; it should be fixed
- We recommend doing the same thing for a long hangtime between turns as well. All you have to do is reload your save.
Game problems
- If you start a battle a few tiles away from a city, the city queue may not be available, or it may show as an infinite time to completion. The queue becomes available again once battle is over, though you may need to go to the next turn. What you can do to get around this is to finish the battle first. Then, if the infinite timer persists, reload your save.
- You have met the threshold for a new tenet, but all tenets have already been taken, so you cannot end your turn. If you are facing this problem then you can be rest assured as the developerrs are working hard to fix this problem and it will be solved in the next patch of the game.
Application problems
- The game displays very poor performance and may crash. For performance issues, we recommend switching from DirectX to Vulcan. To do so, on Steam, open the Properties of the game and add -force-vulkan in the launch options field.
- If you have the game on Epic Games Store and Gamepass, the you can create a shortcut to the game’s main exe file and then open the properties of this shortcut. Add -force-vulkan in the “Start in” field after the quotation marks
- The game crashes on launch. If you have played OpenDev or Closed Beta, then we have already told you what to do at the beginning o this guide. If you have not, or if that didn’t fix it for you then the problem may be caused by some sound-related software that ships with some pre-built PCs. Please check if you have Sonic Studio or Nahimic Companion running, and either disable or remove it.
