Recent, Huawei has announced its next flagship i.e. Huawei Ascend P7. The Huawei Ascend P7 is the sequel of the Huawei previous flagship, named the Huawei Ascend P6 “the thinnest smartphone”. The new model builds on the original 5 inch 1080p display, but with a better camera, a better chipset and some more improvements.

The key features of the Huawei Ascend P7are as follows:

  • Quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE; penta-band 3G with HSPA; LTE Cat. 4
  • 5” 16-color 1080p IPS-LCD capacitive touchscreen with Gorilla Glass 3, also usable with gloves
  • Android 4.4 KitKat with Emotion UI
  • Quad-core 1.8 GHz Cortex-A9, Mali-450 GPU; 2GB of RAM and Huawei’s own Kirin 910T chipset
  • 13MP autofocus camera with LED flash, 1080p video recording @ 30 fps
  • 8MP front facing camera, 1080p video recording
  • 16GB of built in storage
  • Hot-swap microSD card slot
  • Bluetooth v4.0
  • Active noise cancellation with dedicated mic
  • 2500mAh battery

The Ascend P7 has its strong areas. Specially the camera, both front and back. The back camera has been sourced to be made by Sony. While the front facing 8MP camera allows you to take stunning selfies with its features like the face enhancement and selfie panorama option.

The Ascend P7 also offers a much string and powerful chipset, offering LTE connectivity. Although the new chipset is still the timeworn Cortex-A9, which is normally a gash below Qualcomm’s Krait-based processors.

Design and Build Quality:

The Huawei Ascend P7 is a real looker. It seems to be an elegant slate wrapped around protective aura of glass. And by protection I mean the Gorilla Glass 3. The glass has a much radical pattern, it has tiny dots adding extra feature to the design quality of the phone.

Display:

The 5 inch phone introduces an IPS display of 1080p resolution. The display has an amazing pixel density of 445ppi, which is truly the preeminent in the 1080p class.

Camera:

The camera of the Ascend P7 has been manufactured by Sony, as mentioned earlier as well. The camera has a 4th generation BSI sensor, Image Signal Processor (ISP), IMAGESmart 2.0 software and f/2.0 aperture on its 13MP non spherical lens rear-facing camera to create unparalleled clear and rich photos, both in day and night.

The phone lets you go to straight from the locked phone to the camera in just 1.2 seconds after double clicking the volume down button.

Battery Performance:

With the 2500mAh battery you do not have to plug in the charger every 12 hours. The proprietary battery saving technologies plays a great deal in enhancing the time of the battery. In addition the power management lets you close any background process that are consuming unnecessary power.

Under 10% below battery, the phone enables only the most basic functions of the phone (for which the phone was made for in the first place), that would be the voice calls and the contacts page. By which the last 10% can be stretched to last 24 hours on standby.

Last words:

The Huawei Ascend P7 surely does one thing right, to stand out in the crowd of Androids, visually. It offers a good connectivity, performance, battery and most of all selfies. The Ascend P7 will be made available to the public in a month at retail price of £449. Once again, U.S. is not among the release countries.
