Even though Android Nougat is not very common yet- its installed on less than 15% of Android smartphones- but all eyes have now turned towards its recently launched successor, Android 8.0 Oreo. This new software has arrived earlier during this week, so you should brace yourself for hearing a lot about device updates in the coming months.
So far, we have a rough idea about the smartphones that will be getting the Android 8.0 Oreo update, and at what time. HTC gets the credit for being one of the fastest out of the gate to give everyone an official confirmation on the software update. HTC sent out a tweet yesterday, saying that the HTC U11, the HTC U Ultra and the HTC 10 would all be getting the upgrade to Android Oreo worldwide.
We're excited to bring Android Oreo to HTC U11, HTC U Ultra, and HTC 10 owners worldwide! Details & additional devices to be announced soon.

HTC U11, U Ultra and 10 Android Oreo Update:
Even though HTC has wasted no time in announcing the update for the aforementioned devices, but their choices have not come as a surprise to anyone. These HTC models were already expected by everyone to receive the update, so, HTC has not really put its neck on the line.
With that being said, the confirmation is still a welcome relief, especially when it comes to the HTC 10. The HTC 10 was launched in 2016, with Android Marshmallow, and even though it was expected to get two major updates, but that has not always been the case. Examples of this include the OnePlus 2 not receiving a second major Android OS update, and the LG G4 still awaiting the arrival of Android Nougat in the US (and chances are, it may never arrive.) And this makes us particularly happy on HTC stating that the updates will be available worldwide and not only in selected regions.
HTC also gets the credit in being the fastest manufacturer to roll out Android Nougat updates, so far and having made it available to the HTC 10 in just over 90 days. This only makes us believe that HTC will also be delivering the Android Oreo update to its devices without much of a delay (even though a specific timeline has not been provided yet.)
Feel free to tell us how you feel about these HTC devices getting the Oreo update!
