How to unlock The Surge 2 High FPS Cap

The in-game settings allow users to limit their FPS to the following values: 30, 50, 60, 75, 90, 120, 144, or 160. If you want to go beyond that, here’s how you can do it.

  • Head over the following location
USER/Documents/The Surge 2/settings.ini
  • Now, open Settings.ini
  • Search for max_frame_rate and set the value to anything up to 200.
  • If you can’t find the option, just add max_frame_rate in the file, and set it equal to whatever value you want up to 200
  • Save and close the file

Make sure you don’t change the frame limit from the in-game settings after this, as it will be overwritten. That’s all you’ll need to do, to unlock FPS beyond the in-game limit.
