Recently Sony announced Cross-play of Fortnite on multiple platforms like, Xbox One, PS4, iOS, Android etc. Epic Games has provided an update on account setting features for cross-platform functions and the answer to How to merge multiple Fortnite Accounts?
First Cross-Play Ever of History of Gaming
Sony the only company who was not reluctant of cross-platform gaming in the past. Microsoft and Nintendo already told the media and people that they will be working on cross-platform gaming which will open new paths into the future of gaming. Sony being sony did not give agree on this and now a few moments ago they just posted cross-play of Fornite on multiple platforms. Meaning players from PC, Xbox One, PS4, iOS and Android can play a single game! For the very first time in the history of games and gaming.
This development comes in response to PS4 players’ continual plea for the feature to be made available to users. Many such users have been eagerly awaiting an official response by Sony and now we have one.

Now there is a problem. You cannot play Fortnite form a single account of PlayStation to an Xbox One right? Which means people had to make multiple Fortnite accounts in order to solve this problem.
How to merge multiple Fortnite Accounts
Fortnite cross-platform is a very big and huge news not only for gaming but for console manufacturers and cellphones companies as well. As I mentioned as you now can play with players from the different platform you, however, cannot have a single account to play on multiple devices right? For that Epic Games posted this solution on their Twitter account
1) An account-merging feature to combine Battle Royale purchases, coming in November.
2) Enabling unlinking a console from one Fortnite account, and relinking to another Fortnite account. Coming in a few days.

When cross-play was announced people had to face a very annoying problem. If you had a primary account for any platform let’s say PS4 and you have purchased a lot of stuff and you have a very high rank. If you make another dummy account on other platform let’s say Nintendo Switch and you play Fornite with your friends. You had v-bucks and skins and whatnot. Now the problem after cross-play is that you will lose everything from your other Fortnite accounts like everything in order to cross-play. You have to unlink your account from the Epic Games website and after that everything is gone. In the above Tweet, Epic Games will release an update which will solve this problem.
