Cyberpunk 2077 is easily one of the biggest games of the year, despite a relatively rough launch. It has managed to sell 13 million copies despite the refunds and continues to sell more. It is still at the top of Steam’s best seller’s list weeks after launch, and this is during a Winter Sale, where Cyberpunk 2077 isn’t even discounted. If you are on PC and want to increase the Cyberpunk 2077 draw distance, here is how.
We are hoping that with the consistent flow of updates from CD Projekt Red, the game will become more stable over time. Even on PC, which is still the best platform to play it on, there are numerous bugs, often hilarious but rarely annoying too.
Increase the Cyberpunk 2077 Draw Distance
If you aren’t satisfied with how far the game renders objects, you can manually increase the draw distance as well. This is a safe tweak that you can disable later on as well if you think it is causing performance issues for you. If you have a decent system, this draw distance tweak really brings out the detail in Night City.
IMPORTANT: Before you go with this method, it is important to back up your save files. If you don’t know where those are, you can find out at this link.
To increase the draw distance, follow the steps below.
- Head over to the following location in your install path
Cyberpunk 2077\engine\config\platform\pc
(Make sure you have have the “Hides extensions for known file types” option unchecked in Folder Options)
- Create a new text file here called IncreaseDistance.ini (you can name this anything)
- Open it using Notepad, and add the following text
[Streaming] DistanceBoost = 42.000000
- We recommend keeping the value below 50. The default value is 0, and you can lower it as well if you want to decrease the crowd density.
- The .ini file should look like this after you have edited it properly.

Most open-world games generally provide an option to adjust the draw distance, but it’s a little trickier with this one. Again, as we already mentioned, it is important that you back up your save files before attempting this method.
