Rage 2 is the sequel to the first Rage game that came out in 2011. It is a first-person shooter developed by Avalanche Studios in partnership with id software. The game is published by Bethesda Softworks. Rage 2 has been highly praised by critics for its graphics potential and sublime shooting mechanics, however, the plot and gameplay has been criticized as being too generic. In this article though, I will be showing you how to fix the Rage 2 blurry graphics issue on PC that many have complained about.
As evident by the several threads on different forums, the game’s graphics can appear muddy or blurred at times. The options menu is not all that great given how there isn’t even a brightness adjuster. Moreover, Reshade is not supported by the game so you can’t do anything there. However, I have found a solution whereby tinkering the in-game graphics settings will mitigate the blurriness to quite an extent.
How To Fix Rage 2 Blurry Graphics Issue on PC Using Game Settings
To fix the blurriness here is what you need to do:
- Turn off ‘Motion Blur’
- Turn off ‘Chromatic Aberration’
- Set ‘Resolution Scale’ to Off
- Turn off ‘Depth of Field’
- Set the anti-aliasing to ‘FXAA’
- Turn off ‘Soft Particles’
As you can see in the screenshots above, changing the said settings does make a difference. You should try it for yourself as the difference is not very apparent in the screenshots, in my experience the game does look marginally better after the change.
