Mortal Kombat 11 just launched on the PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC. While we have addressed how to fix issues on each of the above systems, we now come to the PC. This guide will walk you through How to Fix Mortal Kombat 11 Crashing Issues on PC.
How to Fix Mortal Kombat 11 Crashing Issues on PC
Unlike the console versions, there are many variables that can have an impact on your gameplay or the crashing issues. We will examine each facet one at a time and if your issue still persists, you can follow more of our PC guides here.
Update your video card and/or sound card drivers
Try downloading the latest version of your Nvidia / AMD GPU drivers. You can do so by clicking the links below:

NVIDIA driver website with Automatic driver download
Update your system’s Direct X
You can update your systems Direct X by doing the following:
Press the Start button on your PC, and type Settings in the Search Bar. Head to Update & Security and then click on Windows Update.
Now just Check for Updates.
If a newer version of Direct X is available, you will be informed and the download will begin. Wait for the download to finish and to install.
Turn off Overclocking or Turbo Boost
If you have a CPU or GPU Overclocked or any component that has a turbo boost feature (where the component will increase its clock speeds when it detects a higher workload), try turning it off and resetting your component to default clock speeds.
Corrupt Data / Reinstall the game
There could be a possibility of the game data being corrupted. To check for any corruption do the following:
Go into your Library in Steam and locate Mortal Kombat 11 in the games list. Right-click the game and select Properties. Click on the tab labeled Local Files. Over here you can choose Verify Integrity of Game Files.
Let Steam have its time to check for corrupt data. If no corrupted data is found try launching the game. If crashing still persists, you will need to reinstall the game.
Return to your Library in Steam, right-click on Mortal Kombat 11 and choose Uninstall. When it is finished, go back to the library and left-click Mortal Kombat 11 to begin the installation process again.
Play around with different settings
Tweak the graphics settings of the games. If you have a setting that you feel could be a bit much for your hardware, take it down a level or two. Taking down stuff like anti-aliasing, shadows, resolution, and other demanding aspects of the game can help significantly reduce the chance of a crash if you have weak hardware.
This is going to be a long game of trial and error. Just keep tinkering with different settings, play a game, and if the game still crashes for you even at the lowest game settings and resolution, you can continue troubleshooting.
Keep in mind that unlike consoles, PC has different reasons for causing crashes in video games. You will have to be very patient and take lots of time to find the culprit.
