The Mortal Kombat Saga continues with the eleventh iteration of the game and takes off where the prequel ended in terms of story. Players have reported in various forums that their games either crash to desktop upon startup or a few mins after the launch of the game. There are a few reasons as to why this happens.
How To Fix Mortal Kombat 11 Crash To Desktop Error On PC
Fix No. 1
Often times such problems arise due to third-party peripheral software such as RGB controllers etc. In Mortal Kombat 11’s case, it seems like the culprit for many is Corsair iCUE keyboard driver software. Players have reported that once they disabled the keyboard software they did not experience any further crashes.
Fix No. 2
Other such third-party software can also cause crashes. If you have RGB software installed it would be a good exercise to disable those before launching the game and see if it makes any difference. Players have reported that disabling RGBPeripherals and RGBKeyLighting solved their crashing issues.
- Navigate to path C:Users[user]AppDataLocalMK11
- Look for Usersettings.ini and open in notepad
- Set RGBPeripherals to off and RGBKeyLighting to off

If still unresolved, you can try tinkering with your GPU settings which may help.
Nvidia
- Right click on desktop and select “Nvidia Control Panel”
- Now go to “Manage 3D settings” and then click on “Program Settings”.
- Add Mortal Kombat 11.exe from the list, you can click on browse and select it from destination folder if it doesn’t show up in the list.
- Select High-performance NVIDIA processor from the drop-down box and click Apply.
AMD
- Right click on the desktop and select AMD Radeon Settings from the menu.
- Now click on the system tab.
- Click on Switchable Graphics then select the game (if it is not in the list you can add it by using the Browse option and select the .exe-file of the game).
- Select High Performance for the game from the drop down option.
