How to fix Amnesia Rebirth Black Screen on PC (Steam/GOG/EGS)

Amnesia Rebirth is a horror-adventure game from Frictional Games. It is now available on PC via Steam, GOG and Epic Games StorePS4, and Xbox One. If you are on PC and are running into the Amnesia Rebirth black screen issues, here are a few things you can try to fix that.

The game has a mostly positive rating on Steam, and similar to SOMA, has a fairly high critics score on Metacritic.

If you are on PC and are getting a black screen, after the cinematic, try the following fixes. The developers are aware of this issue, and are working on fixing it.

FIX 1: Verify Game Files (Steam)

  • Right-click the game in your Steam library
  • Click “Properties”
  • Navigate to the “Local Files” tab
  • Click “Verify integrity of game cache”

FIX 2: Reinstall the game (GOG/EGS)

It is possible that some of the game cache files are corrupted. Simply reinstall the game if you are on GOG or Epic Games Store.

FIX 3: Update GPU Drivers
