The Outer Worlds is Obsidian Entertainment‘s latest RPG and is now finally available on PC and consoles. If you’re on PC, here’s how you can disable Mouse Acceleration in The Outer Worlds.
Mouse Acceleration or smoothing is a setting where the cursor distances increases if the mouse is moved quickly. It’s not exactly the most ideal setting for most games especially FPS one’s.
Disable Mouse Acceleration in The Outer Worlds
- Head over to the game’s configuration files path, which is the following for
Epic Games Store
Users/(Username)/AppData/Local/Indiana/Saved/Config/WindowsNoEditor
Xbox Game Pass
Users/(Username)/AppData/Local/Packages/PrivateDivision.TheOuterWorldsWindows10_hv3d7yfbgr2rp/LocalCache/Local/Indiana/Saved/Config/WindowsNoEditor
- Open Input.ini using any text editor, such as Notepad
- Now, add [Engine.PlayerInput] at the bottom if it isn’t already present
- Add the following commands under [Engine.PlayerInput]
bEnableMouseSmoothing=false
bViewAccelerationEnabled=false
- Save the file and exit
These commands will now disable the annoying in-game Mouse Acceleration setting. Some games already provide the option to disable it from the settings, but The Outer Worlds doesn’t.
