SNK has released their popular blade-wielding fighting game worldwide and on PC via Epic Games Store. The game is currently free on Epic Games Store with ARC: Survival Evolved that is nothing but the cherry on top. The game, however, doesn’t allow the players to change the resolution which seems like a poor development choice by the developers. Until unless there is an official patch to fix this, you can manually change Samurai Shodown resolution to a custom one.

You can set it to your current display resolution or may be lower as well manually by following the guide. The steps are pretty simple to understand and will help you change it to custom in no time. Here’s how you can do it.

Without any further delay here’s what you need to do change Samurai Shodown resolution to custom:

  • Go to C:\users\YourUsername\appdata\local\samuraishodown\saved\config\windowsnoeditor
  • Open gameusersettings.ini
  • Replace the following lines with your desired resolution. It is recommended setting the Fullscreen Options to 0 which is exclusive fullscreen or 1 for the Borderless Window if you prefer.
ResolutionSizeX = XXXX
ResolutionSizeY = XXXX
LastUserConfirmedResolutionSizeX = XXXX
LastUserConfirmedResolutionSizeY = XXXX
FullscreenMode = 0
LastConfirmedFullscreenMode = 0

And you should be good to go now.

Samurai Shodown or is a blade-wielding 2D fighting game with 3D characters just like Street Fighter XIV. The game was developed and published by SNK. It is available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, Google Stadia, PC via Epic Games Store, and Arcades.

The game was initially launched in 2019 in Japan and released worldwide and on PC on 11 June 2020. The story takes place between the events of the 1993 game. Samurai Shodown V and has been cited as a reboot of the series.
