Here are the two crazy One Piece fan theories which you should totally check out. One is about Kaido’s ancestors and another one is how Blackbeard managed to get the powers of two Devil fruits.
The Article contains huge spoilers so read it at your own risk!
The world of One Piece might be one of the biggest worlds you will ever find in any manga or anime. It could be the biggest. One piece is that kind of show which has everything, fantasy, romance, fights, wars, mind-blowing landscapes and characters which really makes the world of One Piece shine. The series has one of the best character developments, side stories, and connections that makes you feel they were there from the start even though they appear for the first time ever.
Talking about characters, when you talk about any shonen manga you will get an overpowered main character who, after a tough fight, wakes up their inner powers and defeat the much-hated antagonist. One Piece is totally different in that regard. You will find antagonists who are so powerful you will not imagine Luffy defeating them without any help or in just one fight.
Two of these characters are Marshall D. Teach, captain of Blackbeard Pirates and the 4th Yonko (Four most powerful pirates ruling over the 2nd half of Red-line, New World). The other one is Kaido of the Beasts who is the captain of Beast Pirates and is also one of the Yonko. Let me share the two theories regarding these two amazing characters which I found on Reddit and after reading which really made me ponder, “I think this is what going to happen!”
One Piece Fan Theories Featuring Kaido and Blackbeard
You can read the fan theories down below,
Theory #1 – Kaido’s Ancestors and Its Relation to Thriller Bark Arc
Here is the first theory which gives us an idea about the ancestors of Kaido, letting us understanding Kaido a little bit better and this also might tell us the history of Wano Kuri. Shoutout to u/5thKablamo for this amazing insight. Here’s what 5thKablamo posted:
When Moria takes Luffy’s shadow to Oars, he (Edit: Hogback) explains the legend of the country-puller. A gigantic oni stole entire countries and brought them back to its own, creating a kind of jigsaw puzzle island.
Now, what’s suspicious is that Wano is so neatly divided into its regions, and that these regions have differing climates. What if the rivers that split Wano into six is actually where the landmasses were fused?
And I know it may seem weird for different parts of the same island to have different climates, but we’ve seen Punk Hazard. Whether its the islands’ magnetic properties (Punk Hazard has no magnetic field, but other islands do) or awakened Logias permanently altering them, the reason why the Grand Line islands have varying climates with possibly zero respect to latitude and longitude is a mystery, so this opens the possibility Wano could be a hodgepodge of former islands.
Now this would normally be considered as reaching, but there’s another clue to consider – the island right next to Wano, Onigashima. We’ve seen its outline. It has a gigantic Oars-head. Oars was already gigantic by himself, but this skull here is about the size of the island.
What if Kuri, Ringo, Kibi, Udon, Hakumai, and the Flower Capital used to be separate islands, fused together by an oni who lived on Onigashima centuries ago?
And what if Kaido is a descendant of that monster?
I think this is pretty legitimate and there is a very strong chance this could be true. Since we are talking about Eiichiro Oda himself, there is an also chance that this might be totally wrong.
Theory #2 – Blackbeard Two Devil Fruits Theory
After the Marineford arc, Oda shocked the One Piece community after the death of Whitebeard (that hit really hard). What shock you might wonder? Let me remind you when Whitebeard died at Marineford Blackbeard Pirates put a cloth on him and Blackbeard enters under the cloth. When he comes out of the cloth he was able to use the power of Gura Gura Devil Fruit (used by Whitebeard) and all of the fans wondered, “How the hell is this possible?” I had the same reaction no joke.
There are several theories you will find about this crazy scenario. Out of all this is the best I could find on the Internet enjoy! Shoutout to Temmychan for this theory.
Logic devil fruit users can become their respective element, but that transformation can be inhibited by the presence of something which naturally suppresses the element. Crocodile could be hit when he got wet, since sand clumps together when wet. Enel could be hit by Luffy, since he is made of rubber. Blackbeard cannot transform into darkness entirely, he can only create his element and project it (as all Logia users can), but his body can be hit normally even without Haki. However, this is because in all situations there is light shining on him, which is the natural inhibitor of darkness… When he is under a curtain with no light, he can entirely transform into darkness (and as his darkness can draw in Devil Fruit powers, he can then draw Whitebeards Devil Fruit power into himself.
This theory could also be wrong as Dressrosa revealed many Blackbeard Pirates had multiple Devil Fruit abilities. It is also possible for Blackbeard to use two Devil Fruits is due to his anatomy as mentioned by Marco but again it’s Oda we are talking about. I just wanted to share these because these looked quite authentic and interesting so, do you have read any better theories than I have posted above?
