I know a lot of people are used to how Geralt looks in Witcher 3, given the game’s popularity, it’s not surprising that people will be divisive how he looks here, but given how the show is based on the books, Geralt didn’t exactly have the beard in it, which is why Henry Cavill looks more like Geralt from the first 2 Witcher games than Witcher 3.
The Witcher show casting has been quite controversial, where many fans were upset about how there were reports for a more divisive choice for characters like Ciri and Yennefer, and those rumors and reports were laid to rest when the cast was actually revealed and the ethnicity was accurate to the one portrayed in both the books and games.
If you ask me, I think he looks alright, a little more Legolas from Middle Earth than Geralt, but I’m sure when we actually see him in action, with dialogues and everything, he’ll look and feel more accurate.
The writer of the series Andrzej Sapkowski is involved in the Netflix series this time around, unlike the games.
Geralt is a highly popular character and was a guest character in the recent Soul Calibur game as well, and people are quite passionate about the series as well, and more people outside Poland have found about the books as well, from the games, so a lot is riding on for the upcoming series.
