While talking about Google and Microsoft one big thing that hits on mind is why aren’t they finishing the war. Last year in August we heard that Google will not be bringing their applications to Windows Store. Such a strong opponents they are Google Created Google Docs to replace Microsoft Office, then Microsoft creates Bing to replace Google Search Engine. Google created Chrome to replace Internet Explores. But they still need each other in the field of technology. Chrome works on Windows and Microsoft need Google apps to create more big market and entertain their users.
Well why we are discussing it now, the thing is. A rumor showed up earlier from inside Google. And this is Google agreed to take steps towards make apps and allowing their services in Windows Phone devices. They released an API library for .NET. This new library will allow developers who are currently using Microsoft’s .NET framework to fit in their apps with Google services. Google have taken a huge step and up till now released about approximately 50 API’s in library. Which includes the famous Google apps Youtube and Google Calendar. Most probably we are hearing that Google Hangout app and Google+ would be available on Windows Phone soon.
Explaining what .NET framework does it will be very complicated but a highlight can be good for users. It’s a framework developed by Microsoft. It provides a lot of tool for Windows Phone development and so does Windows development. Before this Google services were restricted or you can say not allowed at Window’s Phone but it is the first time someone has taken a friendly step and showed up. Let’s see what happens in future, are they going to use these API’s to create some apps for Google services. Or they are going to restrict it to the major ones.
I personally think it is a good step taken and is much appreciated. What are your thinking about it?
