Most of us buys Google Nexus devices as they are cheap as compared to hTC and Samsung handsets. This is not the only factor, the Nexus devices comes up with Stock Android OS which is fast and simple to use. This gives the users a pure Google feel which is, indeed, something quite different but special. One of the other advantage of using Stock Android OS is that you get the updates straight from Google in no time as they are rolled out.
The lightweight experience enchants most of the users. But when they find any source to customize their Nexus devices, they are well after it. As soon as any custom ROM is ported to their Nexus device, they can quickly have their hands on that. Recently, the popular hTC Sense 6 ROM is ported to latest Nexus device i.e. Nexus 5. hTC Sense 6 brings hTC Android handset experience to Nexus 5.
Thanks to xda developer GalaxyUser for porting the ROM! The ROM is in alpha stage at the moment and is still developing. However, hTC Sense 6 port have already got following features working:
- Touchscreen
- SIM card detection
- SMS and phone calls RIL
- WiFi
- Internal SD Card
- Vibration
- Bluetooth
- Sensors (Light/Orientation/Proximity)
- GPS
However, the rest of features are on its way and are expected to arrive soon. Currently, you can install hTC Sense 6 on your Nexus 5 AT YOUR OWN RISK. And bring the feel of hTC handset to your stock Android device.
