Final Fantasy VII Remake was officially announced at E3 in 2015. The remake of the popular game was requested by fans for years and eventually, Sony rose up to the occasion and announced that the project was underway. A release date for the remake was announced recently, i.e. 3rd March 2020, but Sony was adamant that players will get to play the game first on PS4. Now, some conflicting news has come up whereby Xbox Germany twitter handle just announced that Final Fantasy VII Remake for Xbox One will be releasing on the same date as the PS4.
This is a surprise, albeit a pleasant one for Xbox players, since Sony’s whole angle was “play it first on PlayStation 4”. Now there could be two possibilities, either the Xbox Germany twitter is mistaken or there has been some change behind the scenes where it was decided that the game should be released on both the platforms on the same date.

You can clearly see the release date mentioned as 3 March 2020. It is also interesting to note that aside from the two earlier trailers that mention “play it first on PlayStation 4”, the new trailer released at E3 does not mention any such thing.
Could it be that the game is no longer going to debut on the PS4 as previously thought? well, it certainly looks that way, doesn’t it. We are yet to hear any confirmation regarding the news from official Xbox spokesman but for now, take it for what it is.
Let me know in the comments how you feel regarding the announcement, do you think it is a mistake or the game really will release on Xbox the same day as the PS4.
