F1 2018 is the tenth installment in the Formula One racing series by Codemasters. The game is based on the formula one 2018 championship. The game was released in August and now Codemasters has released a DirectX 12 support for F1 2018 as F1 2018 DX12 beta build.
F1 2018 DX12 Beta Build and Details
Codemasters has now released the official support of DirectX12 to their racing game F1 2018. The game would now perform better with the graphics card supporting DX12.
What is this DX12 beta thing?
The F1 2018 DX12 Beta is the official DirectX 12 support for the game and in simple words, this changes nothing but some parts of the game: engine work basically. With DirectX 12 the game will tend to run smoother due to the coding related to graphics. You can download the DX12 beta support for free.
One question which might occur to the player, Do installing the F1 2018 DX12 beta will change our save games or anything?
The answer is no. The DX12 beta is the same as the game standard F1 2018 game of the same version number. The save game will also be compatible with the DX12 beta. Meaning after installation you would be able to continue from where you left.
If you own the game you can get the DX12 beta, however, one thing which you do require is the compatible system to run it: Graphics card and Windows 10.

Known Issues
Every time a new update for a game comes it is inevitable that it does not come with any bugs or issues. Below are some known issues after downloading the DX12 Beta:
- SLI and Crossfire support is not yet implemented
- We expect performance on some high-end/hi-res setups to be better with the DX12 version, but other configurations may be slower.
The current DX12 version of F1 2018 on Windows 10 v1809 has the following known issues:
- You will not be able to go back to fullscreen after switching to windows mode
- Using a resolution lower than the monitor’s native resolution will show the game in a window
- The framerate will be locked when using GSync
- The mouse cursor will remain visible on the screen
