How to Enter Fastboot and Recovery Mode for hTC One M8?

hTC One M8 – the new sexy Android phone is getting popular in the market. The new edition of hTC One has not yet received the Android root. However you can access the different boot modes on new hTC One 2014.

Well, the boot modes include Fastboot Mode and Recovery Mode. Fastboot Mode enables you to flash custom ROMs and kernels on your handset. The mode makes you utilize these ROMs to enhance your smartphone experience. While the Recovery Mode allows you to factory reset, wipe cache and install updates. All our handsets come with Stock Recovery which has got limited functionality. A custom Recovery can help you in performing variety of tasks like installation of custom Kernels and ROMs. You can even mount partitions with custom Recovery. Both modes are treated as hidden menus in smartphones.

So how to enter in both modes? Well, both the tutorials are given below.

Enter Fastboot Mode for hTC One M8:

Before you begin, make sure that the tutorial is for Advanced Users. Fastboot Mode can be used to unlock bootloader which leads to deletion of all data files. Moreover, it may brick your phone too. So be caution, TheNerdMag will not be responsible for any damage to your device.

Here is the step-by-step procedure:

  1. Switch off your phone.
  2. Press Power key after few seconds.
  3. As the device STARTS, press and hold Volume Down key.
  4. While holding, quickly press Power key again.
  5. This will enter you in Bootloader Mode. Select Fastboot option through Volume keys.
  6. Now press Power button to confirm your selection.

Now, your device will boot to Fastboot mode. If you fail in first attempt, repeat the tutorial.

Enter Recovery Mode for hTC One M8:

The method which I will teach is manual. The method is applicable on any Recovery either Stock or Custom. Here is the step-by-step procedure:

  1. First of all, head to Settings > Battery.
  2. Uncheck the Fastboot option.
  3. Now, power off the phone.
  4. Press and hold Volume Down key.
  5. While holding, press Power key.
  6. Under Bootloader menu, select Recovery option with the help of Volume keys.
  7. Press Power key to boot Recovery Mode.

If unable to boot Recovery Mode, repeat the tutorial. You have successfully accessed both modes on hTC One M8.
