While details are still sparse, Death Stranding System Requirements and Game Details are still anyone’s guess.
Death Stranding is a project that Hideo Kojima, the acclaimed series creator of Metal Gear Solid, is working passionately towards. While Death Stranding Game Details are scarce, it is known that Kojima is working in collaboration with the famous Hollywood Director, Guillermo Del Toro, Hannibal (TV Series) antagonist, Mads Mikkelsen, and The Walking Dead’s, Norman Reedus.
The game is shrouded in mystery and while Hideo Kojima’s new studio, Kojima Production is now working around the clock to make the game a reality. The game has managed to evade fans and media alike when it comes to presenting any actual gameplay footage.
While we have had some absolutely stunning trailers presented to us, fans and gamers everywhere are still in the dark about any aspect surrounding the game, and while it does help in creating a sense of intrigue for fans, it also leaves fans wondering if this is another elaborate Hideo Kojima ruse.
Kojima: The Original Video Game Troll
There have been times where Hideo Kojima did pull the rug right from under the player’s feet, and he manages to do so with each console generation.
On the PlayStation 2, Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty was the sequel to the highly successful Metal Gear Solid on the PlayStation 1. All of the content for the game such as trailers, gameplay videos, etc. All showed the series protagonist Solid Snake at the helm, but just as the game released, players were handed the reins to a new character named Raiden. A character who just appeared out of nowhere and was a new face to the series.
Hideo Kojima managed to be the master of illusion for the PlayStation 3 and the PlayStation 4 in one fell swoop when he initially revealed: “The Phantom Pain” at the 2012 Video Game Awards.
The trailer showed a hospital under attack by a telepathic child, a giant whale destroying a helicopter on land, a man on fire riding a flaming unicorn and constant cryptic texts.
The game was originally revealed under the alias of Moby Dick Studios, founded by Joakim Mogren. The ruse continued to hold that stance until internet sleuths dissected the footage, and made connections over how The Phantom Pain is inconclusively the next Metal Gear Solid.
Seeing as how The Phantom Pain was a simultaneous release on the PlayStation 3 and the PlayStation 4, along with the Xbox 360 and the Xbox One respectively. We can safely say that this was the one time that fans were played like a fiddle by the legendary series creator.
The Phantom Pain Pain:
After the tremendous success, Hideo Kojima faced his own betrayal when he repeated his actions a month before The Phantom Pain was meant to release. It started with a demo being uploaded on the PlayStation Store by the name of P.T.
The game was yet another example of Kojima’s cloak and dagger tactic, as it took gamers a ton of effort to figure out how to beat the demo using a lot of luck, and tinkering with the game for hours on end.
This wasn’t an easy task mind you as the demo was an absolutely terrifying game to play and made players really uneasy, very fast.
Upon finishing the demo, players were presented with a teaser for what would have been a revival of one of Konami’s most notable IP’s, Silent Hill. The game was going to be titled ‘Silent Hills’ and was shown to host Norman Reedus as the protagonist and directed by Guillermo Del Toro.
Unfortunately, the release of The Phantom Pain opened the floodgates to Konami-gate and Kojima’s departure from the company. Due to Silent Hills being a Konami IP, the project was indefinitely scrapped and the demo was taken down from the PlayStation Store.
The failure of P.T/Silent Hills lead to the creation of Kojima Productions, and Sony giving Kojima a massive cheque to make Death Stranding a reality.
The game has had constant small teasers if you follow the studio and Hideo Kojima on Twitter, with many subtle hints being dropped about the game, but most of it is indirect such as motion capture in progress or either super cryptic.
While the game has managed to evade the public eye for the whole duration of 2017, Kojima has stated that the development of the game is getting along great. The game has made 2 trailers, each of them releasing months apart in 2016.
Albeit this long of silence does become unsettling, we can be sure that Hideo Kojima is one to deliver, even if it takes time.
Death Stranding For PC?
There has been added speculation that the game will release on the PC along with the PS4, but currently, it is still a rumor.
Considering the game is running the Decima engine, the powerhouse that ran 2017’s Horizon Zero Dawn, we can’t really guess the actual system requirements because Horizon was yet another PlayStation exclusive.
With all these details in mind, what are your thoughts on Death Stranding? We would love to know what you think about the game and if you’re as excited for its next appearance as we are!
