New information regarding the upcoming action-adventure title, Days Gone for PS4, suggests that the game will feature a total play time of 30 hours, 6 hours of which would be cutscenes.
Days Gone is an upcoming action adventure game set in a post-apocalyptic open world. It is a PS4 Exclusive that will be coming out in April next month. The game will feature a third-person perspective on what is going to be a horror-themed environment. While we don’t know much about the map itself, the devs of the game, however, have referred to it as being “huge”.
In terms of story, The player will control Deacon St. John (Sam Witwer), a former outlaw-turned drifter and bounty hunter who prefers life on the road. The story of the game takes place two years after a global pandemic which has wiped out almost all of humanity and transformed millions of others into “Freakers” aka zombies
Days Gone Will have 30 hours of Story and 6 hours of Cutscenes
However, the exciting bit of news regarding the game that has just surfaced is that the story of the game will be 30 hours long with 6 hours of it being cutscenes. The news came after the devs revealed to GameReactor that the cutscenes would be 6 hours long in the game.
The length of the story itself was previously known but the info regarding the cutscenes is new. It should be noted, just for reference, that God of War, Spiderman and Zero Dawn, all have around 30 hours of story time with varying lengths of cutscenes.
This can either be good news or bad news as I see it. As many have pointed out in different forums, I sure do wish that they make the cutscene skippable as not everyone is into watching abnormally long cinematics.
