There has been official confirmation from the community manager of CD Projekt Red that their highly anticipated title Cyberpunk 2077 will be absent from the festivities of The Game Awards set to take place later this week. While The Game Awards is going to be an event to remember with over 10 game reveals and developers catching up fans to games in development like Anthem, it comes as a surprise that CD Projekt Red won’t be attending.
Cyberpunk 2077 still needs some cyber nip-tuck behind the scenes
We're looking forward to seeing all the reveals and announcements during this year's @thegameawards, however we're not going to be showing anything there ourselves. We’ll share more details about @cyberpunkgame when we’re ready.

It seems that while the names many people were expecting to show are canceling ahead of time with Warner Bros. Montreal and Rocksteady Studios being a part of that list now, we can add the developers of The Witcher series to the list of guests who will not be attending the prestigious event.
The Next One-Hit Wonder?
Cyberpunk 2077 is a game that was first revealed in 2013 and then completely disappeared off the grid as the developer CD Projekt Red was finishing up The Witcher 3 and all its post-launch content. After the latter had been wrapped up in a neat little bow, CDPR went back to their game and brought it back to life with this years E3, delivering a show to remember.
After the critical acclaim of The Witcher trilogy, fans know that there is no other developer fit to handle a project of this magnitude. Especially with how the studio handled The Witcher 2 and 3, both games managed to sweep the competition with the number of awards, accolades and other honors that the games have mustered during their lifespan.
While the E3 2018 gameplay trailer is the only medium we have of the game at the moment, we can hope to see the game make a return in plenty of events during 2019. The game is targeting for a release on this generation of consoles and hopefully, if there is enough attention for it, could see a re-release on the upcoming next-gen consoles.
