This is it, ladies and gentlemen, EA has finally done what I was waiting for it to for years now, and I can’t believe this is happening but Command & Conquer & Red Alert Remastered has just been announced and it’s being handled by the developers from Westwood studios.
Command & Conquer & Red Alert Remastered
EA had been teasing us with Command & Conquer news for the past few weeks and now we finally know what it is, the first two games in the really long franchise of many other games are being remastered.
The titles are
- Command & Conquer: Tiberian Dawn
- Red Alert
EA has announced their project in detail here in this blog post.
Not only are they remastering the base Red Alert, but all the expansions including Covert Ops, Counterstrike, and Aftermath will also be in the package, and they’ve clarified that there will be no microtransactions.
EA has also announced that they have partnered with Petroglyph Games, which include the developers of the original Red Alert games that were developed under Westwood studios to work on the Remaster collection. A partnership with Lemon Sky Studios has also been announced that will bring the glorious games to 4k Resolution, as they have worked on remastering other various RTS games as well.
The development of the remaster titles hasn’t started yet but it’s excellent to know how the original developers are back to bring us back the excellent RTS games under the Command & Conquer label.
We hope that these remasters are a success and one day we could see all the games remastered and playable at 4k with upgraded visuals.
