Coca Cola Beverages Pakistan Limited (CCBPL) is conducting 3rd Savvy and Successful award this year. These awards are conducted for women of diverse background who have dedicated their lives to achieve great success. Savvy and Successful is a part of CCBPL’s initiative to promote gender diversity at workplace and to provide them with a support system that will make them more dynamic as well as productive. Empowering women is one of the three major priorities of Coca Cola Company and the Coca Cola Foundation besides Water and Wellbeing.
Over the last four years not only 33% of the leadership team comprise of women but 14.5% of women are working at management positions and also female participations at CCBPL has doubled. CCBPL provides a platform that celebrates diversity, equal opportunity and has a global vision of women empowerment. The journey over time has grown bigger to not only providing women equal employment opportunities and a favorable environment but also recognizing their efforts at a bigger platform.
The idea of Savvy and Successful awards at the beginning was to present award to women that are part of the CCBPL but from last year the criteria has altered. The idea grew bigger and better, last year the Savvy and Successful award was given to six motivational women that possess exceptional characteristic skills in their respective fields, plus they made Pakistan proud. So last year the winners of the award were:
- Ameena Saiyid (Oxford University Press Managing Director)
- Ayesha Farooq (Pakistan’s first Combat Fighter Pilot)
- Nasreen Hameed (Asian Games Gold Medalist)
- Nilofer Shahid (Fashion Designer)
- Roshaneh Zafar (Founder of Kashif Foundation)
- Samina Baig (First Pakistani female to conquer Mount Everest)
We had a good informal chat with the young female employees at CCBPL which were very motivated about their job. They had been trained by CCBPL through their outsourcing training and learning by Descon Engineering and after the complete training they were allowed to work on their specific production lines. Some of them were exceptional at their work, claiming that they were continuing their job with their undergrad study. But the most important thing they mentioned was working here at CCBPL was a life changing experience for them because of the positive and supportive environment.
That said, let’s move on to the female employees who are working efficiently at CCBPL:
Madiha Parveen
Madiha has a diploma in Electronic and is currently pursuing her B.A. privately. She is successfully working on production line.
Tayyaba Gul
Tayyaba, a young motivational lady has a diploma in Engineering. She is currently doing her B.A. and is looking forward for her M.A. She is successfully handling supply chain and production lines.
Faiza Ahmed
Faiza Ahmed is the back bone of the house or you may call jack of all trades. She is the most inspirational lady at CCBPL. She has her diploma in Engineering and is currently doing B.A. and will then enroll in M.A. after completing her B.A. She has been working at CCBPL for 1.5 years and works at Power House.
Faiza Yaqoob
Faiza comes from a very necessitous background. Who struggled a lot due to the crisis in family but had to get her diploma in Engineering. She supports her family fully now. Faiza’s career started at CCBPL where she first used to work at Power House and now she works at Boiler.
