Captain Marvel is prequel to Iron Man featuring Brie Larson

Brie Larson as Captain Marvel

Captain Marvel will be a prequel set long before Iron Man in the decade 1990’s, the news was revealed by Kevin Fiege president of Marvel Studios on Saturday at San Diego Comic-Con but he did not specify why the movie needs to take place 2 decades back. The movie will unfold everything before Tony Stark becomes Iron man, Captain America comes out of deep freeze and Thor crashes at Earth and it will be even long before Avengers plan to come together and fight beside each other.

Captain Marvel

It will be the first female-led comic book movie for Marvel and it is an important film as a lot is expected from it and with Wonder Woman being one of the biggest Hits at box office in 2017, it puts some extra pressure on them to deliver. It will be Starring Academy award winner Brie Larson in the lead role. It was also confirmed that Samuel Jackson will also return as Nick Fury and play a role in the movie. He will not be wearing an eye patch as the movie’s story is set 2 decades back and it will also reveal how he got one in the first place.

Captain Marvel Brie Larson

Another big news coming was that Skrulls will be coming to MCU and will feature as Villains in this movie. In comics, Skrulls are a devious alien race with green color skins and shape shifting abilities that have been on war for generations against their opponents, the Kree, which can be traced from Guardians of the Galaxy.

They couldn’t feature a footage of the movie as the shooting has not started yet and we cannot see Brie Larson in a suit yet. Though they did show a concept art design of her suit which resembles a lot to her comic book suit and they also showed her punching some bad guys. The movie is directed by Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck and produced by Kevin Fiege.

The movie is scheduled to be released in March 2019 so there is time before any more teasers come out but still it is quite useful small information and it is yet to be seen how Brie appears as Captain Marvel on the big screen and how it is perceived by the audience.
