BlackOps 4 has been at forefront of the BR gaming scene ever since BlackOut was announced. Suffice to say that Treyarch has done a good job with evoking sheer interest in their next game. It is almost unbelievable how well the BR beta was received by players and critics alike. I remember on the day of BR beta release on PC, every major Twitch Streamer including Ninja, Shroud and DrDisrespect were in on the action from the very first minute of the release. Anyway, the popularity of the game is not news to anyone so let’s come to the topic. Call Of Duty: Black Ops 4 Mod Support might be in the works according to a tweet by Treyarch which was posted in response to a question.
Call Of Duty: Black Ops 4 Mod Support Coming to PC?
Now we understand that this might be a long shot but hey who knows what goes on in the minds of these devs eh. So a twitter user asked Treyarch in a tweet that,
“thank you one last question i know you probably are busy but how is mod tools looking like ?”
to which Treyarch replied,
“We’ve repeatedly commented on our huge fandom for the mod community, and it’s something we’ll be looking at, but won’t be at launch”.
Now, this might be construed as your run of the mill non-commital response but it doesn’t hurt to speculate just a little bit. Imagine mod support for a game like Call of Duty: BlackOps 4, the possibilities would be endless, custom matches, custom maps, custom weapons, hell even customized game physics like we saw in third-party MW2 online clients back in the day or even Call of Duty 4.
However, all of this would require user-hosted dedicated servers which we know for sure isn’t the case with BlackOps 4 so this is an additional thing that they would need to implement in order to make Call Of Duty: Black Ops 4 Mod Support a reality.
Anyway, this is all we have to work with, for now, Treyarch hasn’t said much on the topic other than the tweet that you can read below
