It seems there is room for more Call of Duty news today after all. With rumors, leaked footage, PSN listings, and speculations, there’s actually something more to add now. It seems that the next entry in the Call of Duty franchise might be another reboot. The Call of Duty 2020 leaked title card is indicating towards the return of the popular Black Ops series.
We’re expecting Activision to announce something soon, as a lot of information has piled up. There’s no doubt that a new Call of Duty title is coming out this year, and it’s only a matter of time before they show us footage. There’s also a good chance we will see something at Sony’s event on June 11th.
Call of Duty 2020 leaked title card
The title card for the next entry has supposedly leaked, and was posted on Twitter by user @GarnetSunset. You can check out the title card, and tweet below.
The twitter user has sourced this from the PKG file that we earlier talked about in the PSN database entry.
- CodeName: “The Red Door”/”The Breach”
- PKG Name: UP0002-CUSA20046_00-COD2020INTALPHA1-A0101-V0100-DP.pkg
- ID: CUSA20046
The document shown behind the logo has 1976 written, which would indicate the cold war era. So it’s still most likely a reboot, but set during the cold war era, which is what earlier rumors indicated.
Another twitter user chimed into to confirm that this was using Black Ops logo in the PKG file.
This doesn’t seem to be a remaster, because previous remastered titles had “Remastered” written explicitly in the title. Modern Warfare from last year was also a reboot, and Modern Warfare 2 Remastered was a remaster of the original title. We could be seeing Black Ops as the main title for a new reboot.
