Battlefield V Support Class and Combat Roles

The class system returns in DICE upcoming FPS Battlefield V, the sixteenth installment in the series. We have already discussed Recon Class, Assult Class and Medic Class previously now we will focus the Support Class. According to Jeff Landa, the writer of EA for Battlefield, Support player is the guy who makes sure their squad is supplied from ammunition and keep them fortified in the field.

Main Role of Support Class

As the class name suggests your basic role, when playing support is to support your allies in the form of keeping them full of supplies. Your main role is to carry a big ass gun by toting the LMGs or SMGs. These guys help their squad in getting closer to the objective or defending an objective. With a huge magazine full of bullets you weaken the enemy, suppressing the enemy assault. Spotting foes and eliminating them from the field.

Playing this class increased your fortification speeds and lets you replace machine gun parts pretty much faster. You can give your squadmates better firing positions, a safe spot to reload, and the best chance to capture a point when using your unique ability to construct stationary guns.

Weapons and Gadgets

While talking about guns, the Support Class provides with guns efficient for close or medium ranged combat. Combat Roles

Let’s get to the main topic, the Combat Roles for this class. As mentioned earlier there are two Combat Roles available and tied to every class and Support Class is not an exception there are two types of Combat Roles for Support Class:

Engineer (Base):

Engineer is the basic role of the Support Class as you can build fortifications faster and quicker than any Class and Combat Role. You have oversized weapons and you can fire from the top and port guns as well for longer periods of time until they needs to cool down from the heat. Hop into your friends tanks and take control of the port guns inside to obliterate enemies in your path. Then jump out to repair the vehicle at maximum speed when needed to stay in the fight.

Engineer Traits

• Vehicle Fixer: You repair vehicles and build Fortifications significantly faster than other Support Class Combat Roles.
• Heavy Weapons Expert: You can fire static weapons and mounted vehicle weapons for a longer duration before they overheat.

Machine Gunner (Unlockable):

With this Support Class Combat Role you basically have to be in the mid of the field and havoc wreckage buy showing a huge burst of rounds of bullets and creating space for your allies.

Machine Gunner Traits

• Bullet Storm: You have increased suppression ability.
• Focused Fire: Automatically spot enemies when you fully suppress them.

Tips from Game Developers for Support Class

1. It’s smart to go Support Class with some advice. Take these tips from Battlefield V devs.
2. First, remember, the Engineer excels at building Fortifications at maximum speed.
3. So, try this! Bring out your Building Tool to see where you can construct Fortifications. Keep a look out for the powerful stationary machine guns that only Support Class Combat Roles can build. A squad of Engineers can quickly build massive defensive structures to make it hard for attackers to push a point.
4. The second Support Class Combat Role, the Machine Gunner, is more about the handling of powerful LMGs and MMGs but still able to supply friends with vital ammo pouches.
5. A good option when playing the Machine Gunner is to go prone with your LMG or MMG and deploy its bipod for increased accuracy. Then spray bullets in the direction of groups of enemies for a great chance at suppressing and spotting them.
