I recently did an article on the first ever RTX 2070 powered Laptop by Lenovo. This particular laptop’s Geekbench score had leaked online along with some specs. The arrival of RTX powered laptops has been rumored for a few weeks now but nothing substantial had surfaced online until now. Today, we have what appears to be yet another Geekbench score leak, however, this time it is about an ASUS notebook Zephyrus M GM501GS. This particular notebook is rumored to feature the monstrous RTX 2080ti and might as well be the first RTX 2080TI Powered Laptop to hit the market in the near future.
ASUS notebook Zephyrus M GM501GS Specs and GeekBench Scores Leaked
The leak came at the same time as the leak pertaining to the Lenovo Laptop which features an RX 2070, you can read more about that laptop here. The ASUS Zephyrus M GM501GS seems to be an absolute powerhouse if we are to go with the specs that are cited in the Geekbench score below.
The OpenCL score for this laptop is 280486. As for the specs, it is running Win 10 65 bit with a RAM of 16GB. The processor is a 6-core 12-thread Intel Core i7-8750H processor same as the Lenovo 81HE. The boost frequency is an impressive 4 GHz considering this is, in fact, a laptop with cooling constraints.
Arriving at the most exciting bit, the GPU featured in it is none other than the best GPU on the market right now, the Nvidia RTX 2080TI. According to the specs cited in the screenshot, this RTX 2080TI has 11GB VRAM, 68 Compute Units and Max frequency of 1.54 GHz.
The interesting bit to note here is that the name of the GPU is not supplemented by Max-Q as we saw in the Lenovo 81HE leak. Could this mean that Asus has somehow managed to install the same exact chip as the desktop variant of the card?
If this was to be the case, then it would be immensely impressive if Asus somehow managed to keep the size of this laptop close to what is traditionally considered a laptop. Otherwise, we are looking at something closer to Acer Predator 21 X size wise. granted that the Acer Predator 21 X does have 2×1080 running in SLI, even then the size of the Asus laptop is more likely to be close to Acer Predator than, say, Razer Blade.
This is all I have regarding, what could possibly be, the first ever RTX 2080TI Powered Laptop. Let me know in the comments what you think about the ASUS Zephyrus M GM501GS.
