Apple’s big event is finished now and Apple has announced many new features to its existing products and some new products as well. The watchOS 2 is one of the major announcements of today.
The watchOS 2 will be available to download on September 16 for all Apple Watch devices. The watchOS 2 will introduce many new features to the Apple watch. For example, it introduced even more watch faces to choose from. And it gives you even more ways to make your watch face look and work exactly as you like.
It also introduced Time Travel, which means you will be able to see the different events, weathers and other stuff just by rotating the crown on the watch. Time Travel can take you to the yesterday, today and tomorrow. The new os also brings support for native apps which means they run entirely on your Apple Watch. In this way they will load even faster.
Apps can now take advantage of Taptic Engine, Digital Crown, accelerometer, heart rate sensor, speaker, and microphone. Which means that developers can now do more with the apps which will benefit users at the end.
You can now also reply to the email from within the app. Just tap the reply button and dictate a response, send an emoji, or choose from a list of relevant, preset replies.
Transit is another new feature on the Apple Watch giving you live updates of public transport. But for now, this feature is available in selected cities only.
Other features include an improved Siri, more cards support for Apple Pay, protection of watch with an activation lock and new powerfull apps.
More than 10,000 apps are already available on the App Store exclusively for Apple Watch and the number is still growing. The new major apps included in the apps collection is Facebook Messenger and GoPro. The watchOS 2 will be available to download on September 16 for everyone.
