Google roll outs Android 4.4.2 update for Nexus devices just 4 days after Android 4.4.1 update

Just four days after the release of Android 4.4.1 update for Nexus devices, Google has started rolling out the next update i.e. Android 4.4.2 update. Android 4.4.1 update brought a fix to Nexus 5 Camera issue. At start, some bugs were detected in the Android 4.4.1 update. Later on, we saw that many Nexus devices are not receiving the update. And finally, we got the reason why it was so!

It seems that Google halted the roll out of ‘buggy’ version i.e. Android 4.4.1 update. Rather, Google fixed the bugs in it and then re-launched it with the name ‘Android 4.4.2 update’. However, rather than containing fixes to the bugs, Android 4.4.2 update also introduces certain features. Here are the list of features that the update brings:

  • Fixes for Clearing/Delivering the VM Indicator
  • More Security Fixes
  • Additional Security Enhancements

The update has started to reach Nexus devices and is available through OTA. Some Nexus devices are not receiving Android 4.4.1 update rather they are receiving directly Android 4.4.2 update as mentioned earlier. No words regarding the arrival of update on other smartphones.

Till now, that’s all from our side. Stay tuned to capture every story regarding Android KitKat!
