Just four days after the release of Android 4.4.1 update for Nexus devices, Google has started rolling out the next update i.e. Android 4.4.2 update. Android 4.4.1 update brought a fix to Nexus 5 Camera issue. At start, some bugs were detected in the Android 4.4.1 update. Later on, we saw that many Nexus devices are not receiving the update. And finally, we got the reason why it was so!

It seems that Google halted the roll out of ‘buggy’ version i.e. Android 4.4.1 update. Rather, Google fixed the bugs in it and then re-launched it with the name ‘Android 4.4.2 update’. However, rather than containing fixes to the bugs, Android 4.4.2 update also introduces certain features. Here are the list of features that the update brings:

  • Fixes for Clearing/Delivering the VM Indicator
  • More Security Fixes
  • Additional Security Enhancements
