It seems like T-Mobile versions of Samsung handsets are nowadays receiving Android 4.4.2 KiKat update. Yesterday, the official update was rolled out to T-Mobile Galaxy Note 3. Now, the official update named as UVUFNB4 is available for T-Mobile Galaxy S4.
The update is available via OTA on T-Mobile Galaxy S4 handsets. Still some handsets have not received the update. Some users are also facing some issues while installing the OTA update. Installing UVUFNB4 Android 4.4.2 KitKat update on T-Mobile Galaxy S4:
Well, before you begin installing the latest update on T-Mobile Galaxy S4, consider these points:
- Install latest Samsung drivers on your device via Samsung KIES Mini.
- Also, download Samsung USB Driver on your PC from here and install it.
- Antivirus software and KIES Software can interrupt during the working of ODIN tool. Make sure to disable them before you begin the procedure.
- To enable extended USB connectivity, you need to enable ‘Debugging Mode’. To do so, go to Settings, then Developer Options.
- Remember to back up your device so that you can step back if your device brick or your phone stuck somewhere else.
- Sufficient amount of battery should also be there in your phone. We recommend you having more than half battery.
Remember, installation and root procedures are limited to certain devices. So DON’T try to follow this procedure on other handsets as it may damage your phone.
Steps to Install Official Android 4.4.2 KitKat update:
Considering the pre-requisites, it’s time to start the main procedure. Below is the step by step guide of whole procedure. Follow the procedure to have latest Android 4.4.2 Kitkat update on your T-Mobile Galaxy S4.
- The installation process will be done by ODIN tool. Download the tool from here (Source 1 | Source 2).
- Uncompress the contents to a new folder on desktop.
- Now, download the UVUFNB4 Android 4.4.2 KitKat firmware from here.
- Unzip its contents to the same folder on desktop too.
- Install the Odin tool on your PC.
- Now run the tool.
- Turn off your T-Mobile Galaxy S4 device. Restart the device by pressing Volume Down, Power and Home keys simultaneously. This will boot your device in Download Mode.
- Now connect your device with PC through USB cable.
- The Odin tool on your PC will recognize the device. The ID:COM section will turn Yellow/Blue. Moreover, ‘added’ message will also be displayed.
- If the tool does not recognize your device, try re-installing the drivers. Also consider re-applying the settings on your device.
- On Odin tool, click on ‘PA’ option, Select the downloaded firmware from desktop.
- Simply, click on ‘start’ option.
- As the update completes, the ID:COM section will turn Green and ‘Pass’ message will be displayed.
- Disconnect your device and reboot your phone to enjoy the latest firmware on your device.
