After much speculation, it seems that all signs point to PUBG PS4 existing after all, but now the information is solidified with an Amazon listing revealing the release date of the game. If the release date is accurate the announcement should come a day after the Video Game Awards.
While we have covered PUBG on the PS4 extensively, the wait is almost over. After being exclusive on the Xbox One for almost a year the game seems to be making its way to the PS4 in the coming month.
PUBG PS4 Listing found on Amazon
The listing has since then been removed from Amazon but Twitter user Wario64 was able to capture a snip of the listing and the listing is still possible to see using Google Cache.
The release date is set for the 8th of December. A day after the Video Game Awards are supposed to take place. Keep in mind that Amazon listings have been right in the past but are less likely to be wrong. We still encourage you to take this info with some grains of salt.
PUBG will have a tough market to compete against with a free-to-play game like Fortnite. Considering the biggest difference here is how Xbox Live is a requirement for even free-to-play games on the Xbox One, the same doesn’t apply for PS4 where Fortnite doesn’t need PS+. PUBG will mainly be targeting active players of PS+ and hopefully the game performs better than its PC or console counterparts.
Surprisingly the mobile version of PUBG runs very smooth compared to the other platforms, so we can only hope that after all these years BlueHole has finally figured out the right combination of performance and graphics to make the console release a stable release.
