To make an emblematic round shaped roti from Flour has been a hard-hitting job for females since its inception. It takes a lot of exquisite time to cook a single Roti with the help of accurate quantity of Flour and water through perfect reflexology, leveling, heating and cook times. After such onerous work you triumph the true taste of impeccably round roti. Otherwise you can wish to have a robot for it.
And yes for all the females who sometimes get tired after doing this daily 2-3 times, Zimplistic, a Mountain View, California-based company of 20 people has presented Rotimatic for the affluence of ladies. It took six years by co-founders Pranoti Nagarkar and Rishi Israni to develop such an astounding thing. Nagarkar and Israni handled the engineering and software side respectively.
Rotimatic is the world’s first fully computerized robot roti-maker. This physically looking colossal piece of engineering weighs 39 pounds but it can make roti at the rate of 1 per minute. Wow. Nagarkar adopted this idea personally after getting failed, fatigued and bore from making perfect round roti even after taking 30-40 minutes. Well Thanks to her.
Many roti making machines have been introduced in markets but Rotimatic is the one that only needs a concoction of ingredients to work. Rotimatic has three containers: one for the dry ingredient like Flour, 2nd for water and the 3rd for oil. The dry container can only withstand dry ingredients. The 3rd which is the smallest container can have well-nigh any kind of oil, while the water container can receive other flavoring ingredients also such as salt, sugar and cinnamon that are water soluble. All three containers slide into holes on top of the device; they all have an opening in the bottom to discharge each constituent.
The features of the device are that it’s easy to cope and plugs into a standard wall outlet. After you put the constituents in Rotimatic, it heats up to 500 degrees Fahrenheit , you only have to choose the chunkiness, crispness and oil content on a small LCD screen that has four unmarked buttons below it; then touch the start button. Rest of the work is done by the robot to deliver you a roti. Rotimatic mixes the ingredients in a fenced but visible space, making a single ball of dough that will be compacted into one roti. Rotimatic actually uses original process to build one perfect ball at a time and that is why it is far better than other machines.
Now for the first time, users have to be patient because the robot takes some time to sense the accurate uniformity of Dough and Roti because it takes some time to adjust the needed amount. When the robot finds out the right consistency, it repeats the process for the next dough ball achieving 1 min per Roti. Thicker Roti may take more time to cook. After rolling the dough, it takes the ball into a compartment where it is flattened to a perfect 1.5-mm thick roti. Position sensors measure the Roti during this process to guarantee that the roti is equally thick or thin from fringes.
The price may seem high but it’s nothing in front of the strenuous manual roti making process. We have to admit that it’s a good elucidation to roti making problem for ladies like me and we hope we will keep on perceiving such marvelous inventions.
