Check out the release trailer for the 64-Bit Tonic update
The update is free and is now available for both PC and Nintendo Switch. The PS4 and Xbox One version will get this update after the developers are done tweaking it for those consoles. We’ll let you know when the update is available for those as well.
The update has the following description
Strap on those nostalgia goggles and boot up Yooka-Laylee – it’s time for an adventure of 64-bit proportions. We’ve pounded the dough and rolled out the 64-bit Tonic update (it’s free, sorry Trowzer) to Nintendo Switch and PC versions of Yooka-Laylee.
It’s always nice to see developers adding different visual styles to their games. Games like Downwell have various filters that players can unlock and play in their preferred scheme. Return of the Obra Dinn also had a similar feature that allowed players to pick between various video outputs based upon earlier PC displays, from the original mac to the IBM.
The game is also on sale at Steam right now and you can grab it here for 70% off. While you’re here make sure you read about our various guides on The Division 2 with fixes to improve your experience on both PC and consoles.
Yooka-Laylee wasn’t very well received on release by both players and critics, but it eventually caught on and become a more enjoyable experience. We hope that it becomes even better with time and developers learn from their mistakes at launch.
