Yaiba Ninja Gaiden Z

The Ninja Gaiden Series is a much beloved classic video game series that has a lot of fans in both Japan and the West. A series that has been around since the NES age, fans are ever eager for anything Ninja Gaiden related coming out now. And they are in luck since Koei Tecmo just Trademarked Yaiba Ninja Gaiden Z. This means that the game could potentially be ported over to the PS4, Xbox One or even the Nintendo Switch.

The news comes directly from the website of the World Intellectual Property Organization itself where a page was created for Yaiba Ninja Gaiden Z.

What does Yaiba Ninja Gaiden Z Being Trademarked Mean?

Usually, when a company trademarks something it could mean a few things:

  1. Potential Remaster for Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, PS4 or all three.
  2. Protecting the Intellectual Property Rights by renewing the trademark.
  3. Generally relisting it to be sold somewhere.

Fans of the series will be hoping that it is the first of those three. Although, this is an odd choice for a remaster if it is one since Yaiba Ninja Gaiden Z had less than favorable reviews when it came out. It only had a 43% score on Metacritic. Still, perhaps a lot of the issues with the game will be fixed with a re-release.
