After its monumental success on Xbox, Microsoft has announced Xbox Game Pass for PC. The new game subscription service was announced for Windows in a blog post by Phil Spencer, head of Xbox, yesterday. This is a huge deal for pc gaming as it will open up a plethora of new gaming opportunities for PC players.
Xbox Game Pass for PC: List of Games, Availability, Pricing and Release Date
Major details regarding the PC version of Xbox game pass will be revealed at E3 in early June this year. However, we do know some general details from the announcement on Xbox Wire. Xbox Game Pass for Windows will give players unlimited access to a library of over 100 games from 75 different renowned game developers such as Bethesda, Deep Silver, Devolver Digital, Paradox Interactive, SEGA, and more.
Moreover Same as the Game Pass for Xbox, PC players will enjoy 20 percent discount in the Microsoft Store on Windows of up to 20% on games currently in the library and up to 10% off related game DLC and add-ons.
List of Games
Full list of games would be announced at E3 on 9th June, however, we do know from the blog post that games from major developers such as Bethesda, Deep Silver, Devolver Digital, Paradox Interactive, SEGA, and more. This means that we can probably expect titles such as:
- Rage 2
- Doom Eternal
- Metro Exodus
- Imperator Rome
- Wolfenstein Series
Moreover, games from Xbox Game Studios will also be included in Xbox Game Pass for PC the same day as their global release, including titles from newly acquired studios like Obsidian and inXile.
Availability
The Game Pass for PC will be available to all Windows 10 users. Do note that this service is strictly meant for Windows 10 so earlier versions of Windows won’t be compatible.
Pricing and Release Date
As for the release date, the service will most probably go live on the day of the unveiling at E3 on June 9th this year. Pricing, however, remains to be announced but if we were to speculate then it will most likely be around $10 the same as the console variant. I don’t see any reason why the PC version of the service should cost significantly more. My bet is around 10-15 USD.
