Without Intel, we would not have our precious PCs and laptops running. But why has been Intel so successful? Because Intel has forever provided the customers with what they want and what they require. After all these years Intel has been at the top of hardware production line, with the best there is. Intel has yet again provided \u2013 what it seems like \u2013 the new era of processors. Introducing the Core M Processors.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.thenerdmag.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/Core-M-Processors-3.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-9971\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thenerdmag.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/Core-M-Processors-3.png\" alt=\"Core M Processors - 3\" width=\"630\" height=\"420\" \/><noscript><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-9971\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thenerdmag.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/Core-M-Processors-3.png\" alt=\"Core M Processors - 3\" width=\"630\" height=\"420\" \/><\/noscript><\/a><\/p>\n<p>At Intel\u2019s keynote demonstration here at Computex, President Renee James is set to show off Intel\u2019s mobile future. I.e. a 2-in-1 reference PC powered by the company\u2019s new 5<sup>th<\/sup> generation 14nm Intel Core M Processors. Yes that is correct. A processor that only measures 14 nm. That means that the processor would use less energy. And that definitely means that longer battery life. Which we cannot get enough of.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.thenerdmag.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/Core-M-Processors-2.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-9970\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thenerdmag.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/Core-M-Processors-2.jpg\" alt=\"Core M Processors - 2\" width=\"630\" height=\"345\" \/><noscript><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-9970\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thenerdmag.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/Core-M-Processors-2.jpg\" alt=\"Core M Processors - 2\" width=\"630\" height=\"345\" \/><\/noscript><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Note: This is actually a 5<sup>th<\/sup> generation processor, the 4<sup>th<\/sup> gen in the slide is a mistake.<\/p>\n<p>The Core M processors will have the following key advantages:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>60% Lower TDP (thermal design project)<\/li>\n<li>20-40% better performance<\/li>\n<li>10-45% lower SoC power (System on Chip)<\/li>\n<li>~50% smaller package footprint<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The architecture of the processor has not been disclosed yet. But we will wait for that to see what wonders has Intel created.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The Core M Prcocessors reference prototype<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The prototype is a very thin laptop. It has no fans, at least they are not visible. The president of Intel also tease companion docks, although there is only a glance of the keyboard add-on. The keyboard looks thick enough to handle a bit of typing.<\/p>\n<p>Intel says that this going to be the most energy efficient generation of them all. Majority of the devices running on this chip will be fan-less.
