Road 96 just got released on Steam by Digixart, who have released games such as Lost in Harmony and 11-11: Memories Retold. It is the Summer of 1996 and you hit the road for an adventure, but you have to survive against all odds as well. The game has a thousand routes so each player can have many different stories as they meet the different characters while playing the game. However, you can’t do all of this if you’re unable to play the game because of FPS issues in Road 96.

You have to make sure that your PC meets the minimum system requirements for Road 96 before even reading the solutions listed below. If it does not, there’s no point in attempting any of the solutions, as your PC simply won’t be able to run the game.

As always, we would recommend you to update the drivers of your graphic card before anything else as this will in most cases fix your FPS issues.

There might not be a new driver update but it could be that you are running on old graphics drivers so you should update them in that case too. You can download the most up-to-date drivers from your GPU manufacturer’s website: AMD/NVIDIA. To do a clean install of GPU drivers, you can use Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU) which completely removes components that were part of the original driver installation package. Then you can install your new Graphics Card drivers. Reboot Windows and try launching the game again.

If you are experiencing FPS issues in Road 96 then it might be because your CPU doesn’t think of it as an important resource-needing app. If that’s the case then you can change this in the Task Manager.

Guide to Improve Road 96 FPS on Windows PC
