If you are on PC and are running into the Dirt 5 crash at launch issue, here is how you can fix it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The title currently has a <strong>Mixed<\/strong> rating on PC, and it is mostly due to the performance issues players are facing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Dirt 5 Crash at launch<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>A few users have reported that they are running into a crash while trying to launch the game. Codemasters is aware of this, and have released a new patch addressing this as well. If you are still running into it, however, here are a few things you can try.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">FIX 1: UPDATE YOUR GPU DRIVERS<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Make sure you are on the latest versions of your GPU drivers. You can download these from the links below<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.amd.com\/en\/support\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">AMD<\/a><\/li><li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nvidia.com\/Download\/index.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">NVIDIA<\/a><\/li><li><a href=\"https:\/\/downloadcenter.intel.com\/product\/80939\/Graphics\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Intel<\/a><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">FIX 2: UPDATE YOUR WINDOWS<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Make sure you are on the latest version of your operating system. To update your Windows, follow the steps below.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Click on&nbsp;<strong>Start<\/strong>, and go to&nbsp;<strong>Settings<\/strong><\/li><li>Here, select&nbsp;<strong>Update and Security<\/strong><\/li><li>Click on&nbsp;<strong>Windows Update<\/strong><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>If you have a pending update, it will give you the details for it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Fix 3: Launch the game as admin<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Open your&nbsp;<strong>Steam library<\/strong>&nbsp;and right-click on&nbsp;<strong>Dirt 5<\/strong><\/li><li>Select Properties, and now head to the&nbsp;<strong>LOCAL FILES<\/strong>&nbsp;tab<\/li><li>Here, select&nbsp;<strong>BROWSE LOCAL FILES<\/strong>. This will take you to where the game is installed<\/li><li>Now, in this folder, locate the executable<strong>&nbsp;(.exe file)&nbsp;<\/strong>for the game<\/li><li>Right-click on it, and click&nbsp;<strong>Properties<\/strong><\/li><li>In the compatibility tab, check&nbsp;<strong>\u201cRun this program as an administrator\u201d<\/strong><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Fix 4: Make sure the game is updated<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Sometimes, game updates don&#8217;t appear automatically, and you might have to restart Steam in order for it to show up.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Fix 5: Verify game files<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Right-click Dirt 5 in your Steam library<\/li><li>Click \u201cProperties\u201d<\/li><li>Navigate to the \u201cLocal Files\u201d tab<\/li><li>Click \u201cVerify integrity of game cache\u201d<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Fix 6: Reinstall Dirt 5<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The last thing you can try is reinstalling the game.
