The previous year i.e. Year 2013<\/a> was the launch year of two major next-generation consoles Xbox One and PlayStation 4<\/strong>. Both consoles were launched in November and both of them did very well. Xbox One managed to sale one million units in 24 hours<\/a> of its launch. There are a lot of new generation games coming to new generation consoles.<\/p>\n

Few days ago, we came to know that over 3 million Xbox One units have been sold<\/strong>. Now according to new report, Xbox One was the best selling console in United States<\/strong> in the month of December. A total of\u00a0908,000 Xbox One units<\/strong> were sold in December. That is about one million units alone in December in United States. Moreover\u00a0643,000 units of Xbox 360 units were sold too. That gave Microsoft, 46% of the December hardware console marketshare<\/strong> and that is about 10% more than the previous year’s December market share. Moreover, more than\u00a0$1.39 billion were spent<\/strong> in the month of December for software, hardware and accessories on both the Xbox One and Xbox 360. Total video game sales in United States in December was\u00a0$3.28 billion so Microsoft manages to take about 50% market share<\/strong> in this category as well.
