However, this pursuit seems to have slowed down ever since the modern all-touchscreen-thin-bezels type of smartphones came to prominence. It appears as if manufacturers have no substantial\u00a0incentive to innovate new form factors\/designs. We remember a few years ago when the concept of a foldable smartphone was all the rage and many people expected Samsung to set the precedent and release such a phone. Although Samsung did not take that initiative we have news today that an Asian company by the name\u00a0Rouyu Technology has released the first ever\u00a0foldable Screen smartphone.<\/p>\n<h3>Rouyu Technology Released The First Ever Foldable Screen Smartphone<\/h3>\n<p>Earlier today, Iceuniverse, the famous tech leak twitter account, tweeted a short video showcasing the first ever foldable Screen smartphone released by a brand called Rouyu Technology.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">This is the &quot;world&#39;s first foldable screen phone&quot; released by Rouyu Technology, which will use the Snapdragon 8150 processor, but its design is very rough, just to seize the &quot;first&quot;, this is a futures product. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/M0v9o2z0Bw\">pic.twitter.com\/M0v9o2z0Bw<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&mdash; Ice universe (@UniverseIce) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/UniverseIce\/status\/1057568515324952577?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">October 31, 2018<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>Apparently, the phone is not well constructed and can feel rough around the edges. Moreover, it will feature a Snapdragon 8150 processor. Not much info is yet known about this particular smartphone other than the short video in the tweet. We don&#8217;t know any availability details nor pricing.<\/p>\n<p>As with any piece of tech that has a lot of moving parts, the foldable screen concept on a Smartphone raises many durability concerns.\u00a0 As evident from the comments on the tweet, people are dubious as to whether this is a worthwhile implementation of the idea. The phone seems rather chunky and many agree that it does not look portable.<\/p>\n<p>However, since this is a nascent design implementation, subsequent models will improve upon it.
