Albeit the feature will be in available to a limited audience, i.e. those who have been part of previous firmware testing groups. These users are now getting invites to firmware\u00a06.10 which outlines the PSN Name Change feature as a part of the firmware.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Many users of the gaming forum <a rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.resetera.com\/threads\/ps4-system-software-6-10-preview-coming-up.76482\/\" target=\"_blank\">ResetEra<\/a> are reporting getting invites to the highly sought after firmware that is said to bring the ability PSN Name Change feature which many players have been waiting for many years.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_46823\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-46823\" style=\"width: 720px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.thenerdmag.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/psn-name-change.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"720\" height=\"1280\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"wp-image-46823 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thenerdmag.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/psn-name-change.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-46823\" class=\"wp-caption-text\"><noscript><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"720\" height=\"1280\" class=\"wp-image-46823 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thenerdmag.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/psn-name-change.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/noscript><\/a> Image Courtesy of murgo on ResetEra<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>You will only get the invite if you have been part of previous PS4 firmware beta tests so if you missed out on the chance, you will have to wait for the final roll-out of the feature in early 2019. In its current state the PSN Name change will only be visible in certain games, and will be a very limited feature in the early stages. It won&#8217;t be until the early part of 2019 where it is rectified and is globally viewable.<\/p>\n<h2>PSN Name Change &#8211; Finally Coming!<\/h2>\n<p>To change your PSN ID the first time is free of charge but the costs after it are:<\/p>\n<p>\u20ac9.99\/\u00a37.99\/USD9.99 &#8211; Regular PSN Users (without PS+)<\/p>\n<p>\u20ac4.99\/\u00a33.99\/USD4.99 &#8211; PS+ Users<\/p>\n<p>Keep in mind that in the original announcement, Sony has told fans to keep their expectations low when it comes to the feature:<\/p>\n<pre>This feature is compatible with PS4 games originally published after 1st April 2018, and a large majority of the most played PS4 games that were released before this date. However, <strong>please note not all games and applications for PS4, PS3 and PS Vita systems are guaranteed to support the online ID change, and users may occasionally encounter issues or errors in certain games.<\/strong>\r\n\r\nIf for any reason you experience issues after changing your ID, you can revert back to your original ID for free at any time (you will only be able to revert once during the preview program). Reverting back to an old ID will resolve most issues caused by the ID change.
