As we all know, a lot of smartphone manufacturers have shifted their focus to making nearly bezel-less, wireless charging smartphones. Sony has remained strongly attached to the top and bottom bezels in its smartphone lineup. But, this is about to change very soon with the Xperia XZ2 and XZ2 Compact. Sony’s Mobile World Congress plans appear to have leaked out!

Expected Features of Xperia XZ2 and XZ2 Compact:

According to Evan Blass at VentureBeat, Sony is going to be announcing the 5.7 inch Xperia XZ2 and the 5 inch XZ2 Compact. The two smartphones are said to have almost the same basic features, along with some differences. Both, Xperia XZ2 and XZ2 Compact are said to be equipped with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 845 processor and Android 8.0 Oreo. Sony’s new smartphones will compete with Samsung’s Galaxy S9 as is it expected to have a Snapdragon 845 processor too.

The Xperia XZ2 will be Sony’s first smartphone that supports wireless charging. This will be possible due to the sports 3D glass on both faces of the smartphone. The XZ2’s glossy finish will be available in four color variants- black, silver, blue and light purple. While, the XZ2 Compact will also be available in four variants- silver, black, green and pink. The XZ2 Compact will have a polycarbonate case back. Hence, it will lack the wireless charging feature found in the larger XZ2.
