The game supports 4k resolution and 60 fps on PC. \u00a0We now know that developers at Rare want to support 540p and give a 15 fps frame rate lock mode. Although they still haven&#8217;t said what the minimum requirements for Sea of Thieves are officially.<\/p>\n<p>This approach isn&#8217;t really that strange is you ask me. There are a lot of people who don&#8217;t have PC&#8217;s that are powerful enough to do such heavy lifting. Rare wants everyone to join the fun and get a taste of the pirate&#8217;s life. That&#8217;s how it should be. In an interview with PC Gamer executive producer Joe Nate of Sea of Thieves had this to say on the matter.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We\u2019re trying to go as low as possible. We have an idea of what the minimum specs are but aren\u2019t quite ready to reveal them. We\u2019ve actually been inviting people below our current plan for minimum specs into the technical alpha so we can test a number things on the performance side. This game looks so great regardless of the device you\u2019re playing on. Of course it\u2019s gonna look great in 4K, 60fps but it also looks great at minimum spec because the art style is purposefully timeless.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Head of design for the PC version of the game Ted Timmins had this to say.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We\u2019ve actually added a 540p mode, so you can go below HD. We\u2019ve also added a 15 fps frame rate lock because when we were talking to the community some people were like: I\u2019m actually happy playing 15 frames per second. We were like: that\u2019s actually really cool, we should support that. And to them go to them and say, oh, we\u2019ve added that mode for you\u2014it\u2019s below our Rare certified min spec, but if you\u2019re enjoying the game, why should we as developers knock you for that?&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Sea of Thieves will be available early 2018 for Xbox One and PC.<\/p>\n<p>What do you think about this?
