Its been over a decade since the launch of Intel Core 2 Due and Core 2 Quad processors. These processors were the beasts of that time and everyone seemed to love them. They dominated the market very quickly and ruled it for a long time.

Since then, it became hard for AMD to beat the Intel market and its monopoly. People started to love the new Core series including Core i3, Core i5, Core i7. But now AMD is ready to launch a new processor series called Ryzen specifically made for the gaming market.

Intel recently launched its 7th generation Kaby Lake processors and these processors put the CPU frequency to its limits. And now AMD is gearing up to launch the Ryzen series which will give Intel a competition for sure.

The entire Ryzen series is leaked and it consists of 9 processors in total. The highest-end processor is just 95 Watts and costs just $495. While the lowest end processor costs $129.

The Ryzen processors give much more performance at much less price than the competitive Intel processors. The top end Ryzen 7 series offers twice the number of cores and threads than the Intel’s 7th generation Core i7 7700K with almost same prices.

Recently the AMD Ryzen 7 1700X benchmarked and tested and it blew away the Intel’s $1000 Core i7 5960X. Keep that in mind that the Ryzen 7 1700X costs just $389 and it gives better performance than the $1000 Intel processor. Intel truly needs to pay attention here.

The naming convention of new AMD Ryzen series is very smart. They are names as Ryzen 7, Ryzen 5 and Ryzen 3. They are obviously named this way to compare with Core i3, Core i5 and Core i7.
