People who bought it, seem to never leave it easily as no other phone, at that time, gave the level of user experience the Nexus 5 provided.<\/p>\n<p>Google has released Android 7.0 Nougat officially but, as we know, there is one bad news, the Nexus 5 did not get it. Not having the latest version of Android on your beloved Nexus might not be acceptable for you. But there is a way to update Nexus 5 to Android 7.0 Nougat.<\/p>\n<p>Please note that this is not the official Android Nougat for Nexus 5. It is a custom ROM built by XDA community members. But the ROM works fine and there is no such known bug which might affect the user experience.<\/p>\n<p>The ROM is known as BOKR custom ROM and here is how you can install it on your Nexus 5.<\/p>\n<h2>Prerequisites to update Nexus 5 to Android 7.0 Nougat<\/h2>\n<p>Make sure to fulfill these requirements\u00a0before you begin to update your Nexus 5 to Android 7.0 Nougat.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Make sure you have official Android Marshmallow\u00a0installed with latest OTA updates.<\/li>\n<li>Install\u00a0the Nexus 5 USB drivers on your computer from <a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/developer.android.com\/studio\/run\/win-usb.html\">Google<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>Backup your data if you want to save it.<\/li>\n<li>Make sure your phone is rooted. If it is not, you can follow the guide <a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/www.androidpit.com\/how-to-root-nexus-5-on-android-marshmallow\">here <\/a>to root your Nexus 5.<\/li>\n<li>Enable USB debugging on your Nexus 5. (Settings&gt; Developer options)<\/li>\n<li>Make sure you have more than 40% battery on your Nexus 5.<\/li>\n<li>Make sure a custom recovery (TWRP or CWM) is installed.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>How to update Nexus 5 to Android 7.0 Nougat BOKR custom ROM<\/h2>\n<p>Make sure you have checked all the prerequisites mentioned above follow these simple steps.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Download the <a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/www.androidfilehost.com\/?fid=24724405900804112\">Android 7.0 Nougat BOKR<\/a> custom ROM to your computer. (this build includes Google Apps (gapps), so you do not need to install them separately.)<\/li>\n<li>Copy the downloaded zip file to your Nexus 5 via a USB cable or by any other wireless medium.<\/li>\n<li>Power off the Nexus 5.<\/li>\n<li>Now boot into the recovery mode by\u00a0pressing and holding Volume Down and Power button simultaneously.<\/li>\n<li>Now factory reset the phone within the recovery (Wipe &gt; Factory Reset).<\/li>\n<li>Now tap on install (or install from SD card, based on recovery) and locate the zip file you downloaded and press the power button to install it.<\/li>\n<li>Swipe to confirm the flash process.<\/li>\n<li>Your device will begin installing the Android 7.0 Nougat.<\/li>\n<li>Once you get the successfully installed message, restart your Nexus 5.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Congratulations, you have successfully installed the Android 7.0 Nougat on your Nexus 5.
