Cara Delevingne add another voice to growing debate of women\u2019s portrayal in action movies. We have \u00a0had our fair share of powerful women, from Lara Croft to Sarah Connor to Black Widow, but n some action films the women tend to be placed more so for sex appeal than badassery. There has certainly been a forward progression in giving female superheroes stronger roles. But that is not the point. The point is they are kicking butt in five inch heels wearing skin tight leather gear that perfectly shows off cleavage (we all know who we are talking about).<\/p>\n
It is a bit surprising that Cara Delevingne is so open to diss the industry that just have her her biggest role to date, though. But of course, after all the bad-mouthing she does make sure to express that Suicide Squad <\/em>is different from the rest, telling Empire:<\/p>\n\u201cThere are only three girls in [‘Suicide Squad\u2019] but in my opinion they have the best roles. Generally though, superhero movies are totally sexist.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
The three women that Cara Delevingne alludes to are herself, Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn, and Karen Fukhura as Katana. All three are rocking different looks as you can in the full cast photo posted by David Ayer himself. And then we have got Viola Davis added into the mix, who has already claimed her character Amanda Waller to be completely bad-ass saying that even \u201cSuperman would quake in his tights\u201d.<\/p>\n
