Facebook acquired WhatsApp<\/a> recently for $19 billion but even since then it is operating independently and has not changed much. CEO Jan Koum\u00a0promised back then that they will keep running the app\u00a0independently without any change.<\/p>\nAnd according to some rumors WhatsApp may feature voice chat in near future. If the rumors becomes true and WhatsApp does not let it service go down because of it, then it might give an even harder competition to VoIP services like Google Hangouts, Skype and Viber.<\/p>\n
